Beliefs

AMP's approach is a four-stage process.

01. We assess the site and how to utilize the geography to the greatest advantage.

For example, in the case of waste-to-energy projects, if the site is close to existing waste repositories (feedstock, landfills, etc.), and off-take of the resulting power can be easily achieved, we can avoid transporting the power or connecting to the grid, both of which can be prohibitively expensive.

02. We identify the appropriate technology.

We are not venture capitalists—we mitigate technology risk by partnering with existing providers with strong track records.

03. We build a financial model for the project with all inputs and outputs in various pricing scenarios.

We take it all the way down to the acre, the barrel, the gallon, the watt—we get it right at the smallest unit, and then we know it will scale. In the modeling process, we also assess all regional, state, and federal incentives. AMP wants profitability without incentives over the medium term but will use incentives as a bridge to profitability in the short term. But we do not depend on them.

04. We design, build, and operate.

We work with engineering firms to design the project based on the selection of technologies and site specifics. We remain actively engaged throughout the building process and ensure the timely registration for all applicable environmental incentives. Once complete, the project becomes part of our diversified portfolio of renewable assets.

Fact

This year, the world will release more than 30 gigatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.*

Can't we find a better way to power our economy?
