Amp ampCNG Acquires Trillium CNG’s Minority Interest in 17 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Stations
Grant Zimmerman Named ampCNG Chief Executive Officer
CHICAGO (March 2016) – ampCNG, a provider of compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure and fueling solutions for the heavy-duty commercial trucking industry, today announced that it now owns 100 percent of the 17 public access, high performance CNG fueling stations that were part of the joint venture between ampCNG and Trillium CNG™. All 17 stations will now operate under the name of ampCNG. The company also announced that Grant Zimmerman has been appointed chief executive officer. Zimmerman assumes the role from ampCNG cofounder Nate Laurell who will continue in his role as executive chairman of the board.
ampCNG’s network of high performance, ultra fast-fill CNG fueling stations are strategically located across the U.S. on heavily traveled highway corridors, supporting some of the largest CNG fleets in the country with partners in the food and beverage, agriculture and dairy industries. ampCNG along with its parent company, AMP Americas, currently operates stations in Texas, in the Midwest (Indiana and Ohio), and in the Southeast (Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee). New station projects are under development to expand ampCNG’s footprint in Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee and California.

Zimmerman joined ampCNG in February, 2015, as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Prior to ampCNG, Zimmerman was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company’s energy consulting practice. Before McKinsey, Zimmerman worked at Enron in a variety of commercial and finance roles. He holds a BBA and MPA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
